The ISTA sponge filter is a simple system of biological and mechanical filtration for small aquariums and is particularly suitable for breeding juvenile fish and shrimps. It is air-driven by a pump, which creates an optimal oxygen supply in the aquarium. The pump is not included in the scope of delivery.

Due to the pores and the additional notches on the sides, the filter sponge offers a large surface area, on which useful microorganisms can colonise. Therefore, not only the biological filtration is supported but also an ideal food source for shrimp is created. In addition, no shrimp or small fish can be sucked in due to the small pores in the sponge. There is no need for an extra filter guard.

The sponge filter can be attached easily to the pane with the included suction cups. Due to its simple set-up, the ISTA sponge filter is easy to clean.
