The Eheim reeflexUV aquarium sterilizer is designed to clean water from harmful microorganisms and maintain the health of fish. Water passing through the sterilizer is exposed to ultraviolet rays. Irradiation kills bacteria and algae spores. Ultraviolet sterilization does not change the physical or chemical parameters of water.
The sterilizer is often used in fish breeding to protect eggs from pathogenic microorganisms and fungi.
Ultraviolet radiation is dangerous to human health. The Eheim reeflexUV sterilizer has a built-in system for switching off the ultraviolet lamp, which is automatically activated when the device is opened.
