Testing the parameters of fresh water with JBL ProAqua drop tests:
- pH - acidity
- GH - general hardness
- KH - carbonate hardness
- NH3/NH4 - ammonia/ammonium
- NO2 - nitrites
- NO3 - nitrates
- PO4 - phosphates
- SiO2 - silicates
- Fe - iron
- Cu - copper
Test order:
- select test types, add to cart, pay for testing and delivery.
- If you order testing of water from several aquariums (or aquarium and tap water), be sure to number or otherwise mark the water samples. The number of tests to be performed must correspond to the number of water samples. Example: if you send two water samples and want to test one of them for KH, and test both samples for NO3, you must order 1 KH test and 2 NO3 tests.
- wait for a call from the courier.
- pour the water sample into a container with a capacity of up to 0.5 l and hand it over to the courier.
- within 24 hours after delivery of the samples, you will receive the test results to your email. If you order a paid consultation along with the testing, the answer to your email will come within 48 hours.
Evaluation of test results:
For aquariums of different types and ages, the same test result may be normal or abnormal. For example, in a newly launched aquarium, significant concentrations of ammonia or nitrites are acceptable. For a functioning aquarium, such a result is absolutely unacceptable and indicates a violation of the biological balance, insufficiently efficient filtration, overpopulation of fish and/or overfeeding. Another example: in most aquariums, a high KH value is acceptable. But in planted aquariums and aquascapes, this is a significant deviation from the norm, since under such conditions the plants cannot absorb the required amount of nutrients.

To receive a consultation, the following tests must be carried out: pH, GH, KH, NH3/NH4, NO2, NO3 and fill out the aquarium questionnaire. Drop test results are accepted (test strips give an unacceptably high error rate). The consultation will also help in assessing the general condition of the aquarium and identifying weak points of the aquatic system. If you have all six necessary tests and do not order remote testing, when filling out the aquarium questionnaire, be sure to indicate the results of the last test for each of the parameters.
